Nine days to go and no baby yet. I am having contractions off and on, but none hurt and I've not hit anywhere near the 5-1-1 rule. The 5-1-1 rule is where you have contractions closer than 5 minutes apart, lasting 1 minute and going for at least an hour. Maybe this weekend she'll decide she's ready, maybe not....all I know is that if the option is given to me to be induced the day after my due date, I'll probably jump at the chance! I'm getting a tad more uncomfortable this week as she drops lower. I can definitely feel it it my hips and pelvis every time I get up and walk around. Ben and I have been walking the last two nights (firsts in about 3 weeks since I just got so tired...), since everyone tells me walking is a good way to get things moving along. But like I said, I can only go so far before it becomes uncomfortable.
Still playing the waiting game....

Sounds like you're having Braxton Hicks Contractions- I got those A LOT right at the end of both pregnancies. Your body is getting ready!! Walking this last time increased my contractions, but only while I was walking. Once I would sit down they would stop.
I totally feel for you! I know how uncomfortable it gets at the end- especially while sleeping. Hopefully she'll be here soon! Until then, try to relax- put your feet up!! That's a huge tip from me! And being that we're family- I hope you don't get swollen feet like I did. After both babies, my feet were so swollen, Jason called me the Michelin Man! So, put your feet up, relax and drink tons of water!!
It won't be long and we can call you Mommy Ali and Daddy Ben!! Yay!:)
Oh this last stretch is SO hard! I would encourage you to let things take a natural course. I got a little impatient and let them get me going and I regretted it big time. My labor was MUCH longer then it probably would have been if I had just let things go naturally. I wasn't induced but had my membrane stripped (loosened the sack from my cervic). I have also heard inducing brings labor on super intense. HANG IN THERE! It is the slowest days of your life but soon they will become the fastest! : )
I love it!! I am so excited for you! You are so close. Go mama!
Braxton Hicks are odd, sometimes uncomfortable. I had them pretty much everyday the last two weeks and then Jackson was 2 days early. I woke up at 1:30 in the morning and said huh, this is new. I started timing them about an hour later. I woke up hubby an hour after that...and so it goes. You will know when they are real and you won't have to worry about 5-1-1 to determine if its the real deal. Think menstrual cramps times 100. Then times 1,000. Enjoy your last few days of baby free lifestyle as best you can. Soon enough.... :) And when the fun begins, there are two things to remember 1) a baby is at the end of this and 2) when it's over...it's over. It's brutal, but when it's over, it's over. No lingering. Just bliss.
Can't hardly wait to see my granddaughter - only 7 days to go. I am on pins and needles.
Love,
Dad
