2 week doctor's appointment

Avery saw the nurse practitioner, Rachel, for her two week well child visit. She is in the 60% percentile for weight, a beefy 8 lb., 9 oz. today! She's also grown just over 1.5" and is now 21 and 5/8 inches tall (90th percentile - she'll be tall like Daddy!!), and her head has grown as well from 13.5 inches to 14 and 1/8 inches. She's growing all over and at the right rate. She got her heel pricked for the second round of newborn genetic screening, and although she wailed at first, she quickly calmed down. She was a gem while getting looked over and even copped a couple of smiles at Nurse Rachel. Overall, she's in perfect health and doing wonderfully. Mommy caught a cold over the weekend and is still struggling to kick it, but doing better. Daddy is getting ready for his annual backpacking fishing trip into the Black Canyon. He'll be gone Wednesday through Sunday this week and we already are thinking about how much we'll miss him. Grandma and Aunt Kari will be coming to stay with us though, so we'll be just fine.
