More mini updates

I had some questions for my doctor about surgery, so I sent him an email. Believe it or not, he actually called me back himself!! We had a nice chat and he answered my questions in detail. I have decided that I am going to go with a complete cadaver (allograft) tissue for my ACL reconstruction. Two reasons - less pain after surgery since they don't harvest from my hamstring, and also less rehab since I don't have to rehab my hammy with my knee. Seems like an easy enough decision to make. The doctor thought he might have to supplement my hammy with cadaver anyway, so why not make it a bit easier for us all??!! Haven't been too good with biking or exercises these last couple of days, I think mentally I know that I am going to be in for the good stuff soon anyway, and really the purpose of them now was to get flexibilty and mobility, both of which I'm nearly at 100%.

We are heading to Estes Park tonight for the weekend. It's Connie's 60th and we're excited to celebrate with her and to get away for a weekend. Should be lots of fun. I plan to kick back and relax with the other ladies. Ben really wants to fish and maybe hike a bit. We thought about driving up Trail Ridge Road, but I'm not even sure if it's open yet, so we'll see. Mom and Kari are dogsitting - thank you!!

We had our first round tournament game for kickball last night and we beat the "other" ALPS team 8-6. We previously lost to them the first game of the season, so to win and do it in the playoffs felt so good. I couldn't play, so I was calling out batting order and haggling the ref. He was so drunk, so he pretty much listened to everything I told him to call. Overall, it was a very fun game. I think everyone was a bit amped to start off (talk about pressure), but all in all it was competitive without being too competitive. Matt (my team) nailed Ann (my friend on the other team) in the head with the ball as she was running to 2nd base, and that was pretty much the only controvery of the game. Here's a photo of Lauren whooping it up on top of the pyramid (the "other" team is the base). Yea Lauren, we're #1!! Oh yea, it was also mardi gras night, hence the beads and feathers.

Matt Leinart also made an appearance at kickball. For those who don't know....that is code for our beer bong. A while back, Matt Leinart (quarterback from USC, now with Arizona) had some photos come out showing him partying with some maybe underaged girls in AZ. So the guys nicknamed the beer bong Matt Leinart and attached some of the actual photos to the funnel. Here's a photo from last night and the other team sharing in the Matt Leinart fun.
